Wrap Up to the Blog Guidebook Giveaway.

The winner of the Blog Guidebook Giveaway requested a toddler hair adornment to match the Rosy Aqua Floradornment she chose.

The beautiful vintage aqua rhinestone jewel in the center of the Rosy Aqua is one of a kind, and a bit too adult for a little person, so here is the "toddler" version to compliment it.
Smaller in stature, fun fibers and a sweet jadite button with shimmery pink rhinestones are the components of the juvenile version of Rosy Aqua!

Momma and baby will be at their new home later this week.

Thanks so much, again to all participants in the Blog Guidebook Giveaway!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Today it's going to be 88 degrees here.

Didn't it snow in Chicago this week?

Here is my floradornment in honor of what we cannot escape now - SUMMER!
It is in the Etsy Shop as we speak.
Take at look at the GREAT vintage button.  It is another moonglow that is hot pink and orange with an irridescence and a gold center.  So hot it's cool!

New in the Floradornments Etsy Shop Today

What Do You Do with a Floradornment?

I bought a head to display my headbands in my Etsy shop.  I had a suspicion that it was a little smaller than life size.

I'm afraid I was right.

Well - at least you can see what I am working on now.  I was thinking this would be a lapel pin but I do like it on the hat band area.  This is a combined floradornment and is about 6.5 by 3.5 inches.

This is a sneek peek ...
...what do you think?

I LOVE this big blue button on the dark purple petals!

This floradornment I made for a friend who wanted something with coral undertones.
Can you see the floradornment?  What a great friend to wear it for such a special event.  This is NBC Augusta's group of Women to Watch in 2011!
I have another friend sitting in the front row - it looks like she needs one too.

While I was making the floradornment just mentioned thoughts of this purse kept popping into my head.
Hmmm.....it does look awfully similar, but not exactly!!

Hello to all my new blogger friends who are now following Floradornments!  Its great to meet you and I really look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Tell me what you think about the floradornments.
What would you do with one?

A Floradornment for Peggy!

A request for pink and green, or pink and brown...

...got a little of all 3!

New Listings Today!

This large (1.25 inch long) faux turquiose cabochon set in very sparkly rhinestones is beautiful!  It really pulls together all the green and blues in this floradornment.

I call this floradornment Golden Hot because the hot hot pink in the lower petals is really subdued by the olive green upper petals as well as the fabulous vintage domed gold rhinestone button in the center.

Also today this bi-color floradornment is all about polka dots - just in different colors!  Green dots on cream and black dots on grey fabrics, are set on a tulle background. This is finished with pale green, blue and cream-colored fibers secured with a vintage flower button set with one large rhinestone.  A light and whimsical floradornment!

This closeup shows a very interesting large black button set with jet beads and an interesting radiating line pattern.  The background of black and tan, evolving upwards into tan and pale aqua, then to a brighter aqua and white is set off with cream, pink, blue and green fibers.

This Week

THIS is what's going on in my neighborhood this week...
I live in Augusta (no - not Maine - note the green grass)  so this week is all about...

THIS!

These are the signs on my street - my neighbors have abandoned those of us choosing to brave a week of influx of masses of people. They have rented their homes to these corporate groups to house their employees who will attend the Masters' Golf Tournament!

So because of the week of not knowing how long it will take you to get anywhere because of unusual traffic flows, long lines at the grocery store and impossible waits at restaurants I have learned in the past 4 years of living here that it is best not to plan anything too strategically and be open to all changes in timing!  My floradorning world had a big push this past weekend but is pretty quiet now.  Here is what has been accomplished:

The closeup is the center of a floradorned headband for a 15 month old to match her Easter dress.
A custom creation for someone who's favorite color is yellow has a vintage Czech moonglow button from the 1950's.

Brand New Item In The Floradornments Etsy Shop!

The buttons are vintage glass with tiny flecks of color in them.  They add just the right amount of sparkle on these silvery bobby pins.

Green polka dotted pink ribbon, teeny tiny white polka dotted sheer pink ribbons and vibrant green petals make these a spring accessory must-have.
